Constructed in 1907, the Sidney L. Christie U.S. Courthouse and Federal Building is a 3-story multi-tenant federal office building located in downtown Huntington, WV. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a contributor to the Huntington Historic District. RFS Architects was commissioned by GSA to address several necessary upgrades and repairs to the historic structure. The project included replacement of the original monumental wood windows and entrances to comply with current ISC security criteria for blast protection, restoration of the existing marquee entrance canopies, and the restoration/repair of the stone facade.
Services included field investigation, coordination with the WVSHPO office, concept though final architectural design, cost estimating, contract documents, and construction administration.
